NavicentHealth is presently seeking candidates for an Assistant Vice-President of Pharmacy Services. NavicentHealth, based in Macon, Georgia is a multi-hospital health system located approximately 90 minutes South of Atlanta. The system has approximately 970 beds between five hospitals. In June 2016, Navicent Health announced its intent to construct a new pediatric free standing hospital called The Beverly Knight Olson Childrens Hospital, with plans to begin serving the region’s patients in 2019. The Medical Center of Navicent Health is the flagship hospital at 600 beds. It is one of the nation’s premier teaching hospitals and a designated Level I Trauma Center and a three-time Magnet Designated hospital.

We have been retained by NavicentHealth h to identify and evaluate candidates for the Assistant Vice President of Pharmacy (AVP) position. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the AVP has total responsibility for all Pharmacy services throughout the NavicentHealth System including all hospital and ambulatory complexes. The AVP plans, directs and monitors strategic and tactical goals for Pharmacy Services across the Navicent Health System in collaboration with clinical and operational stakeholders. The AVP works with institution pharmacy directors and managers to monitor quality, financial, operational and human resources issues throughout all Navicent Health Pharmacy Services, including coaching and mentoring of pharmacy leadership at each facility to ensure that the System provides optimal pharmacy services, meeting all legal accreditation and certification requirements. Assures the monitoring and evaluation, with medical staff input, of quality and appropriateness of patient services provided by the pharmacy department.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated administrative success with progressive acute care facilities and will need to exhibit characteristics vital to the health systems dedication to complete patient care, education and expansion of broad based Clinical Pharmacy Services. He/She will need to have a background that complements Business, Quality, Education, and Information Systems. Baseline education should consist of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy and/or Pharm.D., with an MBA, MHA and perhaps administrative residency training. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years of health system management experience preferably in a system or tertiary care environment.
