Our client, a progressive Health System located in the Washington DC area is seeking a highly qualified Trauma ICU Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to support its dynamic and future-oriented Trauma Intensive Care Center. This individual will work side by side with our Trauma Team, sign off on medication protocols that will be released throughout the ICU and possess the real world institutional experience to manage off-label use task forces, ICU/Trauma P&T Subcommittee, precept students, etc. Compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition products accurately as evidenced by compounding logs. Interprets medication orders (verbal & written) and transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles accurately. Maintains accurate, complete patient medication profiles as evidenced by lack of error reports. This individual will provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners and patients. Suggests appropriate, cost effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff as needed, as evidenced by clinical intervention log
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of Hospital System experience with significant Trauma/ICU expertise. Ideal candidates will also have PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency training.
