We have been retained by a Boston area hospital to identify candidates for a Clincal Pharmacy Specialist in Internal Medicine. The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist will paly a lead role for this service line. As an Inernal Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for the provision of direct patient care, training and education of other health care providers including serving as a Residency Program Director where appropriate, contributing to formulary management activities, and overseeing and leading quality improvement projects. Direct patient care activities include optimizing patients’ pharmacotherapy in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring medication safety, and promoting effective transitions of care. The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist Lead will take an active leadership role in projects and other activities within their core practice model that support the mission, values, and goals of the Department of Pharmacy. The Clinical Specialist Lead will be an expert in a particular practice area and serve as a role-model for other pharmacists and trainees within that area.

The ideal candidate will have a Pharm.D. and Residency training. Board Certification is highly desired but not required. Two years of internal medicine experience may be considered in lieu of residency training.
