MemorialCare Health System is presently seeking candidates for a Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services. MemorialCare Health System, based in Long Beach, California is a nonprofit integrated delivery system that includes five top hospitals – Long Beach Memorial, Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach, Community Hospital Long Beach, Orange Coast Memorial, and Saddleback Memorial along with numerous outpatient health centers, imaging centers and surgery centers throughout the Southland (Orange County and Los Angeles County).

 

Sierra Staffing has been a leader for over 22 years in the area of Health System Pharmacy Recruitment. We have been retained by MemorialCare Health System to identify and evaluate candidates for the Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy position. Reporting to the Vice President of Pharmacy Services, this individual will have total responsibility for all Ambulatory Pharmacy services throughout the MemorialCare System. He/She provides objectives, sets long term goals, organizes, supervises, and evaluates pharmacy procedures. All activities are carried out in coordination with the overall organizations objectives. Assures the monitoring and evaluation, with medical staff input, of quality and appropriateness of patient services provided by the pharmacy program. In addition to operational oversight, this position is responsible for business development activities including medication therapy management services, pharmacist involvement in adult and pediatric specialty clinics, and discharge counseling programs for ED and inpatient patient populations, experience with 340B, beds to meds and specialty pharmacy development. The Director, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services has primary responsibility to provide leadership, planning, and implementation of pharmaceutical care and services, billing and collections for patients in the ambulatory care setting..

 

The ideal candidate will have at a minimum 3 to 5 years of administrative experience in a large multi-hospital system. Baseline education should consist of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy and/or Pharm.D., Advanced consideration will be given to candidates with an MBA, MHA and/or administrative residency training. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of health system management experience preferably in a system or tertiary care environment.
