Our client, a progressive 800 bed Level II Trauma Hospital located in Louisiana is looking for a Director of Clinical Pharmacy. The facility is located within close proximity to New Orleans. As the Director of Clinical Pharmacy, you will work very closely with Senior Pharmacy Administration, C-Suite and the medical staff in an attempt to solidify, manage and grow the overall clinical pharmacy program.
The position will develop, organize and coordinate Pharmacy clinical programs to enhance the quality of existing service. Directs and oversees the medication related clinical research functions of all investigational studies. Ensures adherence to regulatory compliance, standard operating procedure, good clinical practice, and FDA regulations. Directs Pharmacy Residency Programs to ensure compliance with ASHP provisions. The Director of Clinical Pharmacy will educate healthcare professionals, students and others regarding rational drug therapy; preceptor development, clinical experience enrichment, and financial accountability; responsible for overseeing the integration of clinical pharmacy services, drug utilization programs, and patient medication safety initiatives; assists in the coordination of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee(s) activities and represents the pharmacy department at designated hospital committees (Infection Control, various Outcomes/IHI projects etc.) and physician department meetings.
The ideal candidate will possess a Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree and 3 to 5 years of comprehensive clinical pharmacy program development experience. Residency training and/or BCPS is preferred.
