The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor reports to department leadership and is responsible for coordinating and directing the actions of assigned staff. Responsibilities include the supervision and coordination of daily departmental work activities including development of work schedules and assignments. Develops and sets processes in place to promote effective operations of assigned area(s). Serves as a resource to staff regarding specific skill demonstration, promotion of knowledge and communication. Provides departmental orientation and ongoing education to assigned staff. Acts to correct observed deviations from expected behaviors and procedures and/or reports such to leadership if beyond scope of authority. Provides timely performance feedback and evaluation documentation to assigned staff. Follows established policies, procedures and regulations. Performs various technical procedures, drug preparation maintenance or exams. Develops systems and process to obtain and maintain regulatory compliance. Participates in departmental quality and performance improvement projects and staff workflows. Oversees investigational drug service. Performs other duties as assigned.
Pediatric experience is desirable but not required. Pharm.D, ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency, advance degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of two years pharmacy practice / operational experience in an acute care hospital. Previous management and pediatric experience is highly desirable.
